Developing a positive school image is important for all stakeholders. This questionnaire will help assess the strengths and weaknesses in your school's image.
Questionnaire for assessing school image
A positiveschool image is important for all the stakeholders of the school. The process of establishing an effective learning environment involves looking into the perceptions of principal, staff, students, parents and the community in which the school is located. Different groups will have different perceptions of the same school. To assess the image we need to first map the strengths and weaknesses of the school.
This questionnaire has 40 items, reflecting the five dimensions of school image. The five dimensions which have been taken are:
- Leadership style of Principal and quality of faculty and academic course
- Students' achievement profile - achievement of current students and success of alumni
- Infrastructure of school
- Parental involvement and cooperation with local community
- Pastoral care of students

- Care is taken to help the learning disabled learn at their own pace
- The school offers electives which are not available in most schools

- Students are encouraged to keep pace with world affairs
- Quizzes are organized regularly for students
- The Principal enjoys a good working relationship with the staff
- The Principal and the community work towards a common vision
- Good etiquette is stressed on by the management
- There is a long waiting list to get admission in the school
- Children from all socioeconomic background are welcomed into the schools
To get relevant and objective results the school can be assessed as perceived by students, staff, parents and the public. This will help highlight what are the areas which could be strengthened. Suitable strategies can then be planned to improve the school image.
