I also believe recess time is a vital part of education in a child's life. I do not agree with an extended school day. I believe the children would not have the attention spans or mental energy to withstand an extended school day. I believe outdoor play is very important in childrens' development. School playgrounds do not provide an open-ended and creative environment for such development. Were schools to extend the instruction period, an appropriate environment should be provided.
